When we went to England in July 2009, we stayed at a Bed & Breakfast, in a charming cottage. The landlady, Chris,  was very kind. She had a dog called Gemma and 2 Siamese cats. Chris and my daughter Cécile soon became great friends. Cécile was crazy about the dog, Gemma, and she spent a lot of time playing near the dog.

We spent a lot of time chatting in her garden. It was very hot, I remember one afternoon, the temperature rose to 29° C. Don't tell me that it's always raining in England.

She repaired all sorts of old things in her workshop (= atelier).

Every morning, we had breakfast behind that window, between the kitchen and our bedroom. Chris's breakfasts were delicious, eggs, bacon, tea, cereal, toasts & marmalade....

It really was a wonderful holiday!
